No Sophomore Slump: The Best Second Albums of All Time
Yes, we’re that unoriginal. Last week’s item on the best debut albums of all time got so many responses that we’ve asked the RS music staff to come up with some of the best followups of all time. We’re looking for albums that improve significantly on the artist’s debut.
At the top of the list:
Nirvana, Nevermind
The Stooges, Fun House
Elvis Costello, This Year’s Model
Led Zeppelin, II
Bruce Springsteen, The Wild, The Innocent, The E Street Shuffle
Radiohead, The Bends
Oasis, What’s the Story Morning Glory
Blondie, Parallel Lines
Eminem, The Marshall Mathers LP
Talking Heads, More Songs About Buildings and Food
Public Enemy, It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back
Let’s hear yours…
